Be the Light works with churches to:

1. Discover what they have to offer their community. This is done through revisiting the church’s mission and vision, discussing what it is they feel God has called them to do as well as praying for clarity and direction.

2 Research their community and establish the easiest and most sustainable way to start  their project working in partnership with others. Be the Light believes strongly in partnership work and we encourage everyone to do so when possible. There are so many ways to partner with others for example, allowing other community projects to use your church hall and sharing resources so that more can be done.

3 Help with training, finding funding,  and ongoing support to ensure maximum impact can be made with every project.

Partnership Work = Greater Impact

PROJECT IDEAS

There are a number of already existing projects that can be duplicated such as food bank, night shelter, clothing bank, befriending service, debt service, support hubs, job coaching, soup kitchen, prison work, school holiday activities, the list is endless, Be the Light also works with people to develop new ideas to meet the needs of their community.

TRAINING

Be the light offers various volunteer training and works in partnership with organisations to deliver various face to face and online training. Training is tailored to the needs of project team leaders and volunteers.

VOLUNTEERING

Be the light is currently looking for volunteers to join our team and other community projects we are working on.

We know how difficult it can be for projects to find volunteers so we have started a database to help solve this issue.

Volunteers on our database will be made aware of any volunteering positions at the projects we work with.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Be the Light or any other projects such as food banks please complete our volunteer form.

FUNDING

Be the light works in partnership with organisations to help find funding to help community projects get started. Funding is usually discussed at your initial meeting with BTL advisors.
